Friction Sounds
Friction sounds are noises produced when two surfaces rub against each other. This interaction can create various sounds depending on the materials involved, the speed of movement, and the pressure applied. Common examples include the squeaking of shoes on a floor or the sound of a pencil on paper.
These sounds occur due to the microscopic roughness of surfaces, which causes vibrations as they slide. Friction sounds can be useful in everyday life, such as alerting us to potential issues, like a car brake squeaking, indicating maintenance is needed.
