French region
A French region is an administrative division in France, which is used for governance and organization. France is divided into 18 regions, including 13 in metropolitan France and 5 overseas regions. Each region has its own local government and is responsible for various public services, such as education, transportation, and economic development.
Regions in France often have distinct cultural identities, languages, and traditions. For example, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region is known for its beautiful landscapes and Mediterranean climate, while Brittany is famous for its Celtic heritage and coastal scenery. These regions contribute to the rich diversity of French culture and history.
