French overseas departments
French overseas departments are regions that are part of France but are located outside of mainland Europe. They have the same legal status as regions in France and are represented in the French Parliament. These departments include Guadeloupe, Martinique, Réunion, Mayotte, and French Guiana.
These territories benefit from the same laws and regulations as those in mainland France, including social services and education. They are also part of the European Union, which allows residents to enjoy certain EU rights and privileges. The overseas departments contribute to France's cultural diversity and economic activities.
