French knots
French knots are a type of embroidery stitch used to create small, raised dots on fabric. They are formed by wrapping the thread around the needle multiple times before pulling it through the fabric, resulting in a textured, decorative element. French knots are often used in hand embroidery to add detail to floral designs or other patterns.
To make a French knot, start by bringing the needle up through the fabric. Then, wrap the thread around the needle two to four times, depending on the desired size. Finally, insert the needle back into the fabric close to where it emerged, pulling gently to secure the knot.
