French franc
The French franc was the official currency of France before the introduction of the euro in 2002. It was first established in the 14th century and underwent several changes in value and design over the centuries. The franc was subdivided into 100 centimes, and its symbol was often represented as "F" or "Fr."
In 1999, the euro was introduced as a virtual currency, and the franc was gradually phased out in favor of this new currency. The last coins and banknotes of the franc were withdrawn from circulation in 2012, marking the end of its long history as a key element of the French economy.
