Frederick Funston
Frederick Funston was a prominent American military officer born on June 9, 1865, in San Jose, California. He is best known for his role in the Spanish-American War and the Philippine-American War, where he gained recognition for his leadership and tactical skills. Funston played a significant part in the capture of the Filipino leader Emilio Aguinaldo, which helped the United States assert control over the Philippines.
In addition to his military achievements, Funston served as the commander of the Department of the Pacific during World War I. He was also involved in disaster relief efforts following the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Funston passed away on February 19, 1917, leaving a legacy as a dedicated soldier and leader.
