The Frank Family is best known for their experiences during the Holocaust, as documented in the diary of Anne Frank. Anne, a Jewish girl, went into hiding with her family in Amsterdam during World War II to escape Nazi persecution. They lived in a secret annex for over two years before being discovered in 1944.
The family consisted of Otto Frank, Anne's father, Edith Frank, her mother, and Margot Frank, her older sister. After their arrest, Anne and her sister were sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp and later to Bergen-Belsen, where they both tragically died. Otto Frank was the only family member to survive the war.
