Francysk Skaryna
Francysk Skaryna was a notable Belarusian printer and humanist, born around 1490 in Polotsk. He is recognized for being one of the first to print books in the Belarusian language. Skaryna's work played a significant role in the spread of literacy and education in the region during the Renaissance.
In 1517, he established a printing house in Prague, where he published the first book in the Belarusian language, the "Psalter." Skaryna's contributions to literature and culture laid the foundation for future generations and helped promote the use of the Cyrillic script in Belarus.
