Francis Hastings, 2nd Earl of Huntingdon
Francis Hastings, 2nd Earl of Huntingdon (c. 1536–1595), was an English nobleman and a prominent figure during the Tudor period. He was the son of George Hastings, 1st Earl of Huntingdon and Mary Hungerford. Francis inherited the title of Earl of Huntingdon in 1561 and was known for his involvement in court politics and his connections to the royal family.
As a supporter of the Protestant faith, Hastings played a role in the religious conflicts of his time. He was also a patron of the arts and education, contributing to the establishment of St. John's College, Cambridge. His legacy includes his descendants, who continued to hold significant titles and influence in England.
