Fractured Clavicle
A fractured clavicle, commonly known as a broken collarbone, occurs when the clavicle bone, which connects the arm to the body, breaks due to trauma or injury. This type of fracture is often caused by falls, sports injuries, or accidents. Symptoms typically include pain, swelling, and difficulty moving the shoulder.
Treatment for a fractured clavicle usually involves rest and immobilization with a sling. In some cases, surgery may be necessary to realign the bone. Healing generally takes several weeks, and physical therapy may be recommended to restore strength and mobility after the bone has healed.
