Fra Mauro
Fra Mauro was a 15th-century Venetian monk and cartographer known for his detailed world map. His map, created around 1450, is one of the earliest representations of the world and reflects the knowledge of geography at that time. It was drawn on a large circular piece of wood and included various regions, trade routes, and notable landmarks.
The map was significant for its innovative approach to cartography, combining information from explorers, travelers, and ancient texts. Fra Mauro's work influenced future mapmakers and contributed to the understanding of global geography during the Age of Exploration.
