Fr. Francesco Forgione
Fr. Francesco Forgione, better known as Padre Pio, was an Italian priest born on May 25, 1887, in Pietrelcina, Italy. He became a member of the Capuchin Order and was known for his deep spirituality and dedication to the Catholic faith. Padre Pio gained fame for his reported mystical experiences, including the stigmata, which are wounds resembling those of Christ.
Throughout his life, Padre Pio was a confessor and spiritual advisor, attracting many pilgrims to his monastery in San Giovanni Rotondo. He was canonized as a saint by Pope John Paul II in 2002, and his legacy continues to inspire many Catholics around the world.
