Fowler's Toad
The Fowler's Toad (Anaxyrus fowleri) is a small amphibian found primarily in the eastern United States and parts of Canada. It typically measures 2 to 4 inches in length and has a distinctive gray or brown skin with dark spots. This toad prefers habitats like sandy soils, wetlands, and gardens, where it can easily camouflage itself.
Fowler's Toad is known for its loud, distinctive call, which resembles a long, drawn-out "waaaah." It primarily feeds on insects and other small invertebrates. Breeding usually occurs in shallow water during the spring and summer months, with females laying thousands of eggs in clusters.
