Foster Grandparent Program
The Foster Grandparent Program is a national initiative that connects older adults, typically aged 55 and over, with children and youth in need of support. Volunteers, known as Foster Grandparents, provide mentorship, tutoring, and companionship to young people, helping them develop social and academic skills. This program not only benefits the children but also enriches the lives of the volunteers by fostering intergenerational relationships.
Participants in the program often work in various settings, such as schools, daycare centers, and community organizations. The program aims to enhance the well-being of both the youth and the older adults, promoting a sense of purpose and community engagement for all involved.
