Fort McKinley
Fort McKinley was a military installation located in the Philippines, specifically on the island of Luzon. Established in 1901, it served as a key base for the United States Army during the American colonial period. The fort was named after President William McKinley and played a significant role in various military operations in the region.
The fort was strategically positioned near Manila Bay, providing essential support for naval operations. Over the years, Fort McKinley underwent several changes, including its eventual transition to a Philippine military base after the U.S. military presence diminished in the late 20th century. Today, the site is part of the Fort Bonifacio area, which has been developed into a commercial and residential hub.
