Fort Griffin
Fort Griffin was a military outpost established in 1867 in Texas, primarily to protect settlers and travelers along the Western Frontier. It served as a supply depot and a base for troops during the Indian Wars, playing a crucial role in maintaining order in the region.
The fort was abandoned in 1881, but its historical significance remains. Today, Fort Griffin State Historic Site preserves the remnants of the fort, allowing visitors to explore its history and learn about life in the 19th century. The site also features a museum and hosts various events throughout the year.
