Fort Gratiot
Fort Gratiot is a historic military fort located in Port Huron, Michigan. Established in 1826, it was built to protect the Great Lakes region and the U.S.-Canada border. The fort played a significant role during the War of 1812 and was named after General Charles Gratiot, a prominent military figure.
Today, the site is part of the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, which is the oldest lighthouse in Michigan, built in 1825. Visitors can explore the fort's remnants and learn about its history, as well as enjoy scenic views of the St. Clair River and Lake Huron.
