Forough Farrokhzad
Forough Farrokhzad was an influential Iranian poet, filmmaker, and feminist, born on January 5, 1935, in Tehran. She is known for her modernist poetry that often explored themes of love, identity, and the struggles of women in a patriarchal society. Farrokhzad's work challenged traditional norms and provided a voice for women in Iran.
In addition to her poetry, Farrokhzad directed the acclaimed documentary film The House is Black in 1963, which focused on the lives of leprosy patients.
