Former Senator
A "Former Senator" refers to an individual who has previously served as a member of the United States Senate but is no longer in office. Senators are elected to represent their states and serve six-year terms, with the possibility of re-election. When their term ends, whether due to retirement, loss in an election, or other reasons, they are referred to as former senators.
Former senators may continue to influence politics and public policy through various means, such as writing, speaking engagements, or serving on boards. Some may even pursue other political positions, while others may transition to careers in business or academia.
