Football League Third Division
The Football League Third Division was a professional football league in England, established in 1920. It served as the third tier of the English football league system, below the First and Second Divisions. The league was known for promoting competitive play among clubs that were not in the top tiers, allowing them to strive for promotion to higher divisions.
In 2004, the Third Division was rebranded as the Football League Two following the restructuring of the league system. This change aimed to enhance the identity of the lower divisions and improve the overall organization of English football.
