Follicular Lymphoma
Follicular Lymphoma is a type of cancer that originates in the lymphatic system, specifically from the B-cells, which are a part of the immune system. It is classified as a non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is characterized by the growth of abnormal lymphocytes that form in clusters, or follicles, in the lymph nodes. This condition typically progresses slowly and may not cause symptoms in its early stages.
Patients with Follicular Lymphoma may experience symptoms such as swollen lymph nodes, fever, night sweats, and weight loss. Diagnosis is usually made through a biopsy, and treatment options can include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapies. While it is generally considered incurable, many patients can manage the disease effectively for years.
