Folkekirken
Folkekirken, or the "People's Church," is the national church of Denmark. It is a Lutheran church that plays a significant role in Danish culture and society. Established in the 16th century during the Protestant Reformation, it is known for its emphasis on community and accessibility, with most Danes being members.
The church is funded by the state and provides various services, including baptisms, weddings, and funerals. While membership is high, attendance at services can be low, reflecting a more cultural than religious affiliation among many Danes.
