Folk Saints
Folk saints are individuals who are venerated in popular culture, often outside of official religious recognition. They typically arise from local traditions and are associated with specific communities, embodying values, beliefs, and practices that resonate with the people. These figures may have lived extraordinary lives, performed miracles, or shown exceptional kindness, leading to their status as folk saints.
Unlike canonized saints recognized by formal religious institutions, folk saints often reflect the spiritual needs and cultural heritage of the people. Examples include La Santa Muerte in Mexico and San La Muerte in Argentina, both of whom are revered for their unique connections to life, death, and protection.
