Flour Moth
The Flour Moth, also known as the Indian Meal Moth, is a small insect commonly found in homes and food storage areas. Adult moths have a wingspan of about 1/2 to 3/4 inch and are characterized by their grayish-brown wings with coppery tips. They are attracted to stored food products, particularly grains, flour, and dried fruits.
The larvae of the Flour Moth are the primary pests, feeding on various pantry items. They can contaminate food with their webbing and droppings, making it unfit for consumption. Proper storage and regular cleaning can help prevent infestations of these pests.
