Florida Historical Society
The Florida Historical Society (FHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Florida. Founded in 1856, it serves as a resource for researchers, educators, and the general public. The society publishes historical materials, organizes events, and maintains a collection of artifacts and documents related to Florida's past.
FHS also operates the Library of Florida History in Cocoa, which houses a vast array of books, manuscripts, and photographs. Through its various programs, the society aims to foster an appreciation for Florida's diverse cultural heritage and to educate people about significant historical events and figures in the state.
