Flight Data Recorders
A Flight Data Recorder (FDR), commonly known as a "black box," is a device installed in aircraft to record important flight information. It captures data such as altitude, speed, and heading, which helps investigators understand the circumstances surrounding an incident or accident. The FDR is designed to withstand extreme conditions, ensuring that the data remains intact even after a crash.
In addition to the FDR, there is also a Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) that records conversations and sounds in the cockpit. Together, these devices provide crucial insights into the flight's operation and the crew's actions, aiding in improving aviation safety and preventing future accidents.
