Flight 19
Flight 19 was a training flight of five TBM Avenger torpedo bombers that disappeared on December 5, 1945, during a mission over the Bermuda Triangle. The planes were on a routine navigation exercise, but the pilots became disoriented and reported problems with their compasses. Despite efforts to locate them, the flight was never found.
The disappearance of Flight 19 led to extensive search efforts, involving several aircraft and ships. Interestingly, a rescue plane, a PBM Mariner, also vanished during the search, adding to the mystery surrounding the incident. This event has contributed to the lore of the Bermuda Triangle and its reputation for unexplained disappearances.
