Fleet Admiral William Halsey Jr. was a prominent United States Navy officer during World War II. Born on October 30, 1882, he played a crucial role in several key naval battles in the Pacific Theater, including the Battle of Midway and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Halsey was known for his aggressive tactics and leadership style, which earned him the nickname "Bull Halsey."
