Flames
Flames are visible, gaseous exothermic reactions that occur when a material combusts, producing heat and light. They are typically associated with the burning of substances like wood, gasoline, or natural gas. The color and intensity of flames can vary based on the material being burned and the temperature of the combustion process.
Flames consist of hot gases, primarily carbon dioxide and water vapor, along with unburned particles. The process of combustion requires three elements, often referred to as the fire triangle: fuel, oxygen, and heat. Removing any one of these elements can extinguish a flame, making fire safety crucial in various environments.
