Five Mile Point Lighthouse
Five Mile Point Lighthouse is located at the entrance of New Haven Harbor in Connecticut. Built in 1847, it stands 63 feet tall and features a distinctive white tower with a black lantern. The lighthouse was constructed to guide ships safely into the harbor and has been an important navigational aid for over a century.
The lighthouse is named for its distance from New Haven and is part of the New Haven Harbor Lighthouse system. Although it is no longer an active lighthouse, it remains a popular historical site and is maintained by the New Haven Lighthouse Museum. Visitors can enjoy views of the surrounding area and learn about its maritime history.
