Fitzroy Island Lighthouse
Fitzroy Island Lighthouse is located on Fitzroy Island, off the coast of Queensland, Australia. Built in 1878, the lighthouse stands at 18 meters tall and is made of local granite. It was constructed to guide ships safely through the Great Barrier Reef and is an important historical landmark in the region.
The lighthouse features a distinctive white tower with a black band, making it easily recognizable. It was automated in 1973, which means it no longer requires a lighthouse keeper. Today, visitors to Fitzroy Island can explore the area and enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding ocean and coral reefs.
