Fitas do Senhor do Bonfim
The "Fitas do Senhor do Bonfim" are colorful ribbons traditionally tied to the Church of Bonfim in Salvador, Brazil. These ribbons, often in the colors of yellow, blue, and green, symbolize faith and devotion. Visitors tie the ribbons around their wrists or on the church's gates, making wishes as they do so.
Each ribbon has three knots, representing the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. According to tradition, when the ribbon wears off and falls away, the wish tied to it will come true. This practice is a significant part of the local culture and attracts many tourists each year.
