Fishing Cat
The Fishing Cat is a medium-sized wild cat native to wetland habitats in South and Southeast Asia. It is known for its unique adaptations for hunting in water, including partially webbed feet that help it swim. This cat primarily feeds on fish, but it also preys on amphibians, crustaceans, and small mammals.
Fishing Cats have a distinctive appearance, with a stocky build, short legs, and a thick coat that is usually grayish-brown with dark spots. They are primarily nocturnal and are excellent swimmers, often seen wading in shallow waters. Their conservation status is vulnerable due to habitat loss and hunting.
