First Silesian War
The First Silesian War (1740-1742) was a conflict between the Kingdom of Prussia and the Habsburg Monarchy over the control of Silesia, a region rich in resources. It began when Frederick II of Prussia invaded Silesia, seeking to expand his territory and power. The war was part of the larger struggle for dominance in Europe, involving various alliances and rivalries.
The war concluded with the Treaty of Berlin in 1742, which resulted in Prussia gaining most of Silesia. This victory significantly increased Prussia's influence in Europe and set the stage for future conflicts, including the Second Silesian War and the broader Seven Years' War.
