First League
The First League is a professional football league in Serbia, established in 2006. It serves as the top tier of the Serbian football league system, featuring clubs from across the country. The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Serbian League, which is the second tier.
The First League consists of 16 teams that compete in a round-robin format, where each team plays every other team twice, once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion and qualifies for European competitions, while the lowest-ranked teams face relegation to the lower division.
