Finnish nature
Finnish nature is characterized by its vast forests, numerous lakes, and diverse wildlife. Approximately 75% of Finland is covered by forests, primarily consisting of pine, spruce, and birch trees. The country is home to around 188,000 lakes, including the largest, Lake Saimaa, which supports various aquatic species.
The changing seasons significantly influence Finnish landscapes. In summer, the midnight sun creates long days, while winter brings snow-covered scenery and opportunities for activities like skiing and ice fishing. Finland's national parks, such as Nuuksio and Oulanka, showcase the beauty of its natural environment and offer habitats for animals like moose and bears.
