Finnish Americans
Finnish Americans are individuals in the United States who have Finnish ancestry or heritage. Many Finnish immigrants arrived in the U.S. during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, seeking better economic opportunities and escaping difficult conditions in Finland. They primarily settled in the Midwest, particularly in states like Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Today, Finnish Americans maintain their cultural traditions through festivals, food, and community events. They celebrate their heritage with activities such as Juhannus (Midsummer) and Vappu (May Day). The Finnish American community also contributes to the diverse cultural landscape of the U.S. through art, music, and literature.
