Fight-or-Flight Response
The Fight-or-Flight Response is a physiological reaction that occurs in response to perceived threats. When an individual senses danger, the body releases stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, preparing it to either confront the threat (fight) or escape from it (flight). This response triggers various changes, such as increased heart rate, heightened senses, and redirected blood flow to essential muscles.
This instinctive reaction is crucial for survival, allowing humans and animals to react quickly in dangerous situations. While it can be beneficial in emergencies, chronic activation of the fight-or-flight response can lead to health issues, including anxiety and cardiovascular problems.
