Fibre Channel over Ethernet
Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) is a network protocol that allows Fibre Channel frames to be transmitted over Ethernet networks. This technology combines the high-speed data transfer capabilities of Fibre Channel with the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of Ethernet, enabling efficient storage area networks (SANs) without the need for separate cabling.
FCoE simplifies data center infrastructure by reducing the number of cables and switches required for storage and data traffic. It supports the same features as traditional Fibre Channel, such as lossless data transmission, while leveraging existing Ethernet technology, making it easier to manage and scale storage solutions.
