Feudal Lord
A Feudal Lord was a nobleman in the medieval system of feudalism, which was prevalent in Europe from the 9th to the 15th centuries. Feudal lords held large estates and were granted land by a higher-ranking noble, often a king or queen, in exchange for military service and loyalty. They managed their lands and the peasants who worked on them, providing protection and governance in return for labor and a share of the produce.
The feudal system created a hierarchy where the Feudal Lord was at the top, followed by vassals and serfs. Vassals were lesser nobles who pledged allegiance to the lord, while serfs were peasants bound to the land. This structure helped maintain order and security during a time when centralized governments were weak, allowing lords to exert significant influence over their territories.
