Feudal Domains
Feudal domains were territories governed under the feudal system, a social and economic structure prevalent in medieval Europe. In this system, land was owned by a lord who granted portions of it to vassals in exchange for military service and loyalty. The vassals, in turn, could have their own sub-vassals, creating a hierarchy of land ownership and obligations.
These domains were often self-sufficient, with peasants or serfs working the land to produce food and goods. The relationship between lords, vassals, and serfs was based on mutual obligations, where protection and land use were exchanged for service and labor, forming the backbone of medieval society.
