Ferber method
The Ferber method is a sleep training technique designed to help infants learn to fall asleep independently. Developed by pediatrician Dr. Richard Ferber, this method involves allowing a baby to cry for gradually increasing intervals before offering comfort. The goal is to teach the child self-soothing skills, promoting better sleep habits.
Parents typically start by establishing a bedtime routine and then placing the baby in their crib while they are still awake. Over several nights, the intervals between comforting the child are extended, helping the baby learn to settle down on their own without excessive parental intervention.
