Ferber Method
The Ferber Method is a sleep training technique developed by pediatrician Dr. Richard Ferber. It aims to help children learn to fall asleep independently by gradually increasing the time parents wait before comforting them when they cry. This method is often used for children aged 5 months and older.
Parents start by putting their child to bed while they are still awake and then leave the room. If the child cries, parents wait for a predetermined amount of time before returning to offer brief comfort. Over several nights, the waiting periods increase, helping the child learn to self-soothe and fall asleep on their own.
