Felting
Felting is a textile process that involves matting, condensing, and pressing fibers together to create a dense fabric. This technique can be done using natural fibers like wool, which is the most common material, or synthetic fibers. The process typically involves applying heat, moisture, and friction to the fibers, causing them to interlock and form a solid piece of fabric.
There are two main types of felting: wet felting and needle felting. Wet felting uses water and soap to agitate the fibers, while needle felting employs a barbed needle to tangle the fibers together. Both methods can be used to create various items, including clothing, accessories, and decorative pieces.
