Feline Vision
Feline vision is adapted for low-light conditions, allowing cats to see well in the dark. Their eyes have a higher number of rod cells, which are sensitive to light, and a reflective layer called the tapetum lucidum that enhances night vision by reflecting light back through the retina.
However, cats see fewer colors than humans. They have a limited ability to perceive reds and greens, making their color vision similar to that of a color-blind person. This means they primarily see shades of blue and yellow, which helps them detect movement and hunt effectively in their environment.
