Feline Coronavirus
Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) is a virus that primarily affects cats. It is common in multi-cat environments, such as shelters or homes with several cats. Most cats infected with FCoV do not show symptoms, but some may develop mild gastrointestinal issues.
In rare cases, FCoV can mutate into a more severe form known as Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), which can be fatal. Vaccines are available, but their effectiveness is limited. Regular veterinary check-ups can help monitor a cat's health and detect any potential issues early on.
