Feast of Weeks
The Feast of Weeks, also known as Shavuot, is a Jewish holiday celebrated seven weeks after Passover. It marks the end of the grain harvest and is traditionally associated with the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. This festival is observed by offering the first fruits of the harvest at the Temple and engaging in communal prayers and readings.
During Shavuot, it is customary to eat dairy foods, such as cheesecake and blintzes. Many people also stay up all night studying religious texts, reflecting the importance of learning and spiritual growth. The holiday emphasizes gratitude for the harvest and the significance of the Torah in Jewish life.
