Fawcett Comics
Fawcett Comics was an American comic book publisher founded in the 1930s. It is best known for creating the superhero Captain Marvel, who debuted in 1939. The character quickly became one of the most popular superheroes of the Golden Age of Comics, rivaling Superman in sales and popularity.
In the 1950s, Fawcett faced legal challenges from DC Comics, which claimed that Captain Marvel was too similar to Superman. This led to the eventual discontinuation of Fawcett Comics in 1953. Despite its closure, Fawcett's characters and stories have continued to influence the comic book industry and popular culture.
