Father Edward Sorin
Father Edward Sorin was a French priest and the founder of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He arrived in the United States in 1841 and established the university in 1842, aiming to create a Catholic institution of higher education. Sorin was a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross and played a significant role in promoting Catholic education in America.
