Faroese Premier League
The Faroese Premier League, known as Betri deildin, is the top professional football league in the Faroe Islands. Established in 1942, it features clubs from various islands competing for the championship title. The league operates on a promotion and relegation system with the 1. deild, the second tier of Faroese football.
Matches are typically played from March to November, with each team facing others twice, once at home and once away. The league champion qualifies for the UEFA Champions League preliminary rounds, while other top teams may enter the UEFA Europa Conference League.
